I had to leave town for a few days so I was keeping track of this and early morning took the second photo above.. wasn't sure how soon it would bloom. I returned 3 days later to find below. two blooms opening up! and what RED COLOR! a good contrast to the Lightning Flash coreopsis. I planted these bulbs 3 years ago and saw them leaf out each summer and kept expecting them to die over winter, but this year. flowers! yay.

red amaryllis...
above show photos of my red amaryllis just about to bloom. I had to leave town for a few days so I was keeping track of this and early morning took the second photo above.. wasn't sure how soon it would bloom. I returned 3 days later to find below. two blooms opening up! and what RED COLOR! a good contrast to the Lightning Flash coreopsis. another peony in the front yard with some nice white allium, the next photo is the shade bed showing the variety of leaf color, green velvet shrub, columbine, heuchera, and Black Beauty hosta...
below are my two planters out front for this summer red and blues! :) I ope the purple pepper plant grows in the back of 'em and doesn't get crowded out...
NW shade garden , see the nice contrast of the Ligularia and the rubbertree in back. next photo above show my new tree. A friend moved and offered me this tree, so we moved it and I hope it survives the summer since I transplanted it so late in spring. Atlas Blue Cedar I believe..... And below are some dutch or siberian Iris, I have no idea. ha

Above is a photo of June Hosta with ground orchids behind, and the peony above and below is Moonstone, a very light hint of pink and very nice! :) below shows the NE shade bed with the sensitive ferns growing in above the forest phlox....
above is my favorite new plant in the garden, ligularia aka farfugium 'Garden Confetti' and the peony above and below is a bit unusual and funky but I love the life it puts into the spring garden 'Green Halo'.
below is a photo of a beautiful white white peony 'Bridal Gown'. and my new toy cultivator!!! ha
