Siloam Doubles. :)

I had to take pics of the blooms on Siloam Stinnett's Delight today. (the first four pics and the first pic below of the clump. I actually went to Dr. Stinnett during college in Siloam Springs. ha the 2nd pic below is Siloam Double Peace from the garden tour our club had today.

The next 3 pics are a nice clump of Siloam Double Success from the garden tour, Siloam Joel's Double which is a new one of mine this year, and the last one is the one and only bright and beautiful Siloam Double Classic. :)

seedlings blooming

the first pic is a little guy I like because of the tiedyed look in the eye. the second one was a nice clean little yellow with dark red eye, which is funny 'cause I don't really like yellow with red combinations in daylilies , ha but goes to show ya when it's your own seedling, you give it a chance. the last one was all mottled last year but this year opening up a bit clearer, I love the bold dark pink color and orange throat. I look forward to getting a clump of this and letting it call for attention from the street. :)

so hot in June but still have some blooms...

first opening of Siloam Dean Reusser today and I got two nice blooms. they look rather cheery next to the golden tansy. Next is Happy Apache's first bloom, and the third a new addition this year "Alley Cat Blues". I'm really excited to get its pollen on some things. Anyone else grow Alley Cat Blues?

Julia's Love bloom again today, and the next is a little seedling from Siloam Queen Bee, although it's not all that great 'cause I wish it'd open up a little more. I still liked the color though. Last photo is my new water feature, worked on it all morning, put a 5 gallon bucket in the ground and then drilled a bunch of holes in the lid, got a $20 pump kit from Lowe's and some other things and there ya go. little water feature in the corner. :)

first few doubles blooming...

Siloam Double Classic bloomed today, and this nice little yellow double is Double River Wye. It's not all that big and showy, but on such a little compact plant you get a lot of light airy flower. From a landscaping perspective I think it will bring a nice bright glow to the flower bed from afar... :)

I had to throw in a photo of Ranunculus. I tried them as companion at the knees of my daylilies and I've been really pleased. the next pic is Sienna Sunset coreopsis that I got from a catalog, it looks great next to Julia's Love, the last double in the pic. below is a photo of my front flower bed. I really liked getting the $20 planter at lowes this spring. was fun to fill up with stuff. You can see the little Double River Wye to the left of the big tall stemmed showy buttery Julia's Love.

The first photo is "Roses in Snow" or something like that. It was leftover from last fall's daylily club sale so I brought it home to grow for the next sale. I'll also use pics of this for a post called "daylilies I already know are getting purged from the flowerbed"... to make room for stuff I'm shopping for now. ha... however it does have a nice bright color and yet I need the room.

(It was a goner from the start though because I prefer NOT to grow tetraploids, my one exception being Happy Apache only!) The second photo is Siloam Queen Bee, a staple in my yard and spread out into each bed for the COLOR. :) the third photo is Midnight Red Velvet, something that arrived in place of something else, but I like it's deep red color and vigorous growth.

The last three photos are something new in the yard this year, Amazonian Fever, from Darrell Apps of Woodside Nursery. It a smaller bloom like the previous two, but I love the rich orangey red color. it also has the glittery shiny effect in the light. rich rich color. on fire! :)

good combos

I enjoyed seeing these two daylilies blooming next to each other today. I like the way they sort of go together.. I was imagining a bed with a good 3 or 4 clumps of each in between each other, and then maybe some blue balloon flowers planted all around, that would look very nice. more pics of Midnight Mountain Aura and the double is Spotted Fever which I can seriously not seem to take enough pictures of.

garden color...

I like my new hosta "lakeside Paisley print" and look forward to it hopefully growing and increasing over the next years. the pink Hibiscus was just an extra annual I couldn't resist because of the bold blooms.
